FAQs

Please read through our general FAQs before booking your appointment. These answers are designed to help you feel informed, prepared, and confident before beginning your treatment journey with Outlined.

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes, all treatments begin with a consultation to assess your skin, medical history, goals and suitability.

Are treatments suitable for everybody?

Not always. Some treatments may not be suitable during pregnancy, breastfeeding, with certain medical conditions, active skin infections, or while taking specific medications.

Do you offer treatment plans?

Yes, treatments can be tailored into a plan depending on your skin concerns, goals and budget.
During your consultation, we will ask relevant questions about your health and medical history to ensure your treatment is safe and suitable. Please disclose any relevant health information so we can create the most appropriate treatment plan for you.

What should I do before my appointment?

Avoid active skincare, sunbeds, alcohol or certain medications depending on the treatment. Full pre-care advice will be given before your appointment.  You will also receive pre care advice via email upon booking specific to your treatment.

What aftercare will I receive?

You’ll be given personalised aftercare advice after your treatment to support healing and results. You will also receive post care advice via email after your appointment. You will have my direct contact number if you are concerned about anything.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime depends on the treatment. Some treatments have little to no downtime, while others may cause redness, swelling, peeling or sensitivity for a few days.

When will I see results?

Results vary depending on the treatment. Some results are visible immediately, while others develop gradually over days or weeks.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your skin goals and the treatment chosen. Some clients benefit from a course of treatments for best results.

Can I wear make up after treatments?

For many skin treatments, it’s best to avoid makeup for at least 48 hours. Specific advice will be given depending on your treatment.

Can I have treatments before a special event?

Yes, but timing matters. Ideally book well in advance so any redness, swelling or sensitivity has time to settle.

Do you treat under 18s?

We do not offer aesthetic injectable treatments to anyone under 18. Hydrafacials are available for anyone over the age of 16 so long as a parent or guardian is present. Some steps will be omitted in the best interest of the skin.

Do you require a deposit?

A deposit is required to secure all bookings. A 15 minute phone consultation is free to all new and existing clients looking to start a new treatment

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange.
